Two decades in hosting, three lessons
If I had to hand a new founder in infrastructure a single page, this would be it. Almost twenty years, several companies, and it comes down to three things that never stopped being true.
Own the stack, so you are never at the mercy of a vendor on your worst day. Answer the phone, because support is where trust is built or lost. Price like you plan to stay, not like you plan to sell.
Everything else is detail. This is the long version of why those three, and the mistakes that taught me each one.
